Authentic Storytelling
September, 2026

When Jesus spoke, He told parables—simple stories layered with meaning. You don’t have to share His faith to appreciate the brilliance of this approach: He knew that stories reach places facts cannot. They slip past our defenses and awaken something within us.
Art can do the same. When we create with honesty, our work carries more than technique—it carries a piece of us. It can reach deep places in others, stir imagination, and even shift the way they see the world.
That’s why the theme for Creators Mark 2026 is Authentic Storytelling. This is your invitation to go beyond surface beauty. Tell your story—a story that matters to you, that aches to be told. Then shape it into something that draws people in, makes them wonder, and leaves them changed.
Spacious Couch, Loyal Dog’

"Even though there is a huge, wide open space outside in the backyard, my Jack Russel prefers to stay inside. He sits on a spacious couch, looking tiny compared to the wide open space of it. He waits patiently there for me to come home & play with him."Artist: Atticus Ralston
'Trees Planted by Streams of Water’
'Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. ' Psalms 1:1-3 NIV
Artist: Kay Douglass
I painted this for my parents to honour them, their life, and incredible contribution to not only mine and my family’s life but many, many others. The fruit of their life as consistent lovers of truth has been so beautiful and is ongoing. My father has since passed on to Glory but his life, his legacy continues to produce good fruit.
